Redesign of PBR Rating’s Website: A Secure and High-Performance Platform for the Future.
PBR Rating, an African financial rating agency, works to improve the efficiency of economic information by offering detailed financial and extra-financial ratings, as well as in-depth sectoral analyses.
In full expansion in the MENA region, the agency wanted to modernize its website to provide a better user experience, integrate enhanced security for sensitive data, and optimize its online visibility.
The main objective of the redesign was to ensure smooth navigation while implementing advanced features such as specific authentication for partner institutions and access to detailed reports reserved for them.
The site, available in both French and English, was developed using Next.js with a Headless WordPress CMS for flexible and fast content management.

Challenges Faced

Although the project began with an initial redesign mission, the needs evolved throughout the collaboration.
The client wanted to integrate a specific authentication module and a private section containing sensitive information on financial risks in Tunisia. These requirements added layers of complexity but also helped better define the client’s real needs. The management of sensitive data, already a security challenge, became even more crucial as the site had a history of attacks. One of the major challenges was to ensure optimal security while providing a smooth interface for the user.
In order to ensure mutual understanding, several meetings were necessary to define the data structure and ensure that the site complied with strict confidentiality standards. The complexity of the project also required a thorough analysis of the old site to understand its structure and make the necessary improvements.
Proposed Solutions
To meet PBR Rating’s needs, we proposed a thorough redesign, utilizing Next.js for its performance and ability to handle dynamic content quickly and efficiently. The headless WordPress CMS simplified content management while offering great flexibility for future developments of the site.
We implemented a robust authentication system to ensure secure access to detailed reports and the private section, the National Observatory of Financial Risks, which is restricted to authenticated users. This module helps protect sensitive information about Tunisian financial institutions and their banking relationships, a crucial aspect for PBR Rating given the site’s history of cyberattacks.
Special attention was given to SEO optimization, to improve the site’s visibility on search engines and attract more qualified traffic. Advanced SEO techniques were integrated into the site structure, including optimization of dynamic pages and rich content, JSON-LD, to ensure better ranking and easier access to information.
The visual design, provided by Tasweeq Solutions, was also designed for smooth navigation and an optimized user experience.
Technologies Used
For the redesign of PBR Rating’s website, we used a combination of modern and high-performance technologies, ensuring security, scalability, and a smooth user experience.
Here are the key technologies used in the site’s development:
- Next.js (with server components): Next.js was chosen for its ability to create high-performance web applications thanks to its server-side rendering (SSR). The server components of Next.js helped optimize the site’s performance by reducing initial load time while enhancing the user experience. This approach also ensures better SEO indexing, which is essential for the site’s visibility on search engines.
- Tailwind CSS: For interface development, Tailwind CSS was used due to its flexibility and speed. This utility-first framework allows for rapid style customization without bloating the code. It helped create a modern, responsive, and easy-to-maintain design while providing a seamless user experience across all devices.
- GraphQL: GraphQL was used for communication between Next.js and the headless WordPress CMS. With GraphQL, we were able to optimize queries and fetch only the necessary data for displaying dynamic pages. This allowed for more precise resource management on the server side, reducing the client-side load and improving the overall site performance.
- Headless WordPress with a custom plugin: The site uses WordPress as a headless CMS, allowing flexible and independent content management from the presentation layer. A specific WordPress plugin was developed to address the client’s particular needs, including the integration of reports, searches, and financial ratings management. This custom plugin enabled the addition of unique and secure functionalities while ensuring an intuitive content management interface for the site’s administrators.
Results
The site was successfully launched and now meets PBR Rating’s needs in terms of security, content management, and performance. Users can securely access detailed reports through the authentication module.
The National Observatory of Financial Risks, which contains sensitive information on financial risks in Tunisia, was launched with a private interface, reserved for validated users. The site is also well-positioned on search engines, increasing its visibility and the reach of PBR Rating’s publications.
Concrete results in terms of traffic and interactions were recorded within the first weeks following the site’s launch.
Conclusion
The redesign of PBR Rating’s website not only achieved the goals set in terms of security and performance but also opened the door to new opportunities for the agency.
Through close collaboration with the client, we successfully created a robust and scalable platform, ready to support PBR Rating’s expansion in the MENA region. This project highlights the importance of adaptability, data security for sensitive information, and SEO optimization to meet the current challenges of the financial sector.
In doing so, we have laid the foundation for a secure, high-performing, and visible digital future.
